Malaysian artist Namewee has revealed that ongoing legal proceedings may take several more months to conclude, leaving his career at a complete standstill.
In a lengthy update shared online, he said that nearly all his scheduled projects had been cancelled “all the way until the end of next year”, effectively wiping out his main source of income.
Openly appealed for work
Because of this, Namewee openly appealed for work, saying he is willing to take on behind-the-scenes roles and is flexible with payment.
He also lightened the mood by joking that he is prepared to take ordinary jobs too, listing everything he knows how to do — from frying chicken cutlets and cooking fried rice and curry, to scrubbing burnt pots and even installing window grilles.

If there is something he doesn’t know, he said he is ready to learn as long as it earns him a living while the case drags on.
Finding new sponsored
He also revealed that his completed Year of the Dragon Chinese New Year song may not be released after the original sponsor withdrew due to the ongoing situation.
Namewee is now looking for a new sponsor, promising a custom advertisement jingle and assuring that the track contains no vulgarity.
He claimed it would be “better than any previous CNY song” he has produced and even offered guarantees — a half refund if the music video doesn’t reach 10 million views, and a full refund if he “gets into trouble” again before Lunar New Year.
With the investigation still pending and court dates potentially months away, Namewee said he is simply trying to work and survive as best as he can.
Despite the uncertainty, he assured fans that he intends to continue earning an honest income — whether through music, production work, or even manual labour — until the legal process concludes.
Currently released on bail
Namewee’s arrest happened around the same time Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh was discovered dead in a Jalan Conlay hotel last month.
Although her case was later reclassified as murder under Section 302, police have confirmed that Namewee is not connected to her death.
The 42-year-old was released on police bail on Nov 13 after authorities found no evidence linking him to Hsieh’s passing.
He is, however, facing separate charges for drug use and possession. His next court mention for the drug offences is scheduled for Dec 18.
