Pet owners know all too well that animals can be just as dramatic as humans—especially when things don’t go their way.
Whether it’s a cat giving the cold shoulder after a bath or a dog throwing a tantrum over not getting treats, our furry companions have their own unique ways of expressing themselves.
But if there’s one breed that takes drama to the next level, it’s Huskies.
That was exactly what happened in Kota Kinabalu, where a Husky had to be rescued by the Civil Defense Force (APM) after falling into a drain.
But instead of being relieved or eager to get out, the dog did what Huskies do best—it sulked, refused to move, and even rested its head against the wall in full-on protest mode.
A husky in distress… sort of
According to APM Kota Kinabalu, the brown-furred Husky had somehow ended up in a deep drain and couldn’t climb out on its own.
Thankfully, the water inside wasn’t too high—just enough to wet its paws—but the poor thing was still stuck.
Most animals in this situation would probably be panicked or trying to scramble their way up.
But not this Husky. Instead, it looked completely unbothered. In fact, at one point, it yawned, as if being trapped in a drain was no big deal.
One of the APM officers, seeing how calm the dog was, gently stroked its head to reassure it.
But rather than perking up, the Husky did something hilariously unexpected—it sulked. It rested its head against the drain wall, looking utterly defeated, as if resigning itself to its fate.
The stubborn refusal to leave
Thinking the Husky just needed a bit of encouragement, the officers placed a ladder inside the drain, hoping it would climb out on its own.
After all, it wasn’t injured—just stuck. But instead of jumping at the chance to escape, the Husky refused to budge.
It sulked again, turning its head away as if saying, “Nope, I live here now.” Even after several attempts to coax it out, the dog stood its ground (or rather, sat in the water) and ignored everyone.
At this point, the officers knew they weren’t just dealing with a rescue mission—they were dealing with a very stubborn, very dramatic Husky.
A last-resort strategy: Just pick it up
After multiple failed attempts to convince the dog to move, the APM officer decided enough was enough.
With no other choice, he lifted the Husky up the ladder and carried it out of the drain. Given the dog’s size, it was no easy task, but somehow, the officer managed to get the job done.
Mission accomplished.
