Imagine already waiting one hour for your groceries, then suddenly your app tells you, “Sabar’s on the way.” Confirm you also double take, right?
That was exactly what happened to Hanisz, who thought Grab was cheekily telling her to bersabar.
Plot twist, Sabar is a real person.
After waiting over an hour for her order, Hanisz saw the notification pop up and was genuinely shocked. “Waited for over an hour for my groceries. Then I saw ‘Sabar’s on the way’. Terkejut I, ingatkan Grab suruh I bersabar,” she shared online.

But it turned out that Sabar was actually the name of her Grab delivery-partner.
From A Simple Mix Up To A Raya Musical
What started as a small misunderstanding later became the inspiration behind Grab’s Raya brand film, “Sabar’s On The Way.”

The short musical follows Sabar as he heads to the grocery store to collect Hanisz’s order. When he arrives, he asks the cashier, “Kak, saya punya bila?” The cashier replies that there are many orders coming in that day but reassures him that they are currently packing it. After waiting behind two other riders in the queue, it is finally Sabar’s turn.
Rain, Delays And The Meaning Of Patience
Just when everything seems to be going smoothly, another challenge appears. As Sabar begins his delivery, it suddenly starts raining. With slippery roads ahead, he has to slow down and ride carefully for safety.

The notification updates to “Sabar dalam perjalanan,” while he reassures along the way, “Jangan give up, sabar dah dekat dah ni.”

Through the rain and small delays, Sabar continues his journey. Eventually, the rain stops, the sky clears, and he finally arrives at Hanisz’s home with her groceries safely delivered. The film ends with a meaningful note: “Diilhamkan oleh kisah sebenar Sabar & Hanisz.”

A Relatable Ramadan Reminder
What makes this film feel so close to home is how it turns something as simple as an app notification into a proper Raya story. During Ramadan, patience really gets tested. Waiting for buka puasa, queueing at the bazaar, sitting through traffic before iftar, or refreshing the app to see where your order is already.
Instead of just telling us to be patient, Grab took a small real-life moment and turned it into a light-hearted musical that reminds us there’s an actual person behind every notification, braving long queues and even the rain just to make sure our order arrives safely.
