KUALA LUMPUR – (UPDATED) A video showing a large crowd scuffling with armed police near Wong Low Shen See Chee Hew Temple in Salak South has gone viral on social media.
According to Harian Metro, it is believed that the Lands and Mines Office’s decision to tear down the fence nearby the temple was the reason for the conflict.

Misunderstanding between both parties
About 30 faithful attendees of the temple fought Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel with rods in an attempt to stop the operation from being carried out.
However, Bukit Bintang MP Fong Kui Lun said the operation has nothing to do with the temple.
Cheras District Police has denied any claim of temple demolition.
The operation was intended to tear down the fence to make way for construction machinery to access the national school construction site beside the temple.
Two were left injured as a result of the commotion while four other individuals aged from 19 to 50 were arrested to facilitate investigation under section 148/186.
