In a heart-wrenching incident on Tuesday, a horse tragically lost its life after a collision with a pickup truck on Jalan Sungai Tua-Ulu Yam, heading toward Selayang, Gombak.
The local Gombak police reported that at around 6:30 am, a Ford Ranger, operated by a 54-year-old resident of the area, was en route from Antara Gapi to Sri Gombak.
As the driver approached the location, he was taken by surprise to find a horse directly in his trajectory.
Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, there wasn’t sufficient time for him to avert the impending accident.
The impact was fatal for the horse, which died on the spot. Miraculously, neither the driver nor the passengers in the vehicle sustained any injuries.
The Gombak police are actively investigating the incident under the provisions of Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (Rule 10 LN 166/59).
