Renowned TVB actress Katy Kung recently shared her thoughts on love and marriage during her trip to Malaysia.
According to China Press, in a recent interview, the 35-year-old actress, who is currently single, revealed that she is open to the idea of finding a partner in Malaysia.
She even joked about asking fellow actress Priscilla Wong—who frequently visits the country—for introductions.
She knows a lot of people in Malaysia, so who knows? Maybe fate will lead me to get married here,” Katy said with a smile.
No rush for marriage, but open to a flash wedding
While Katy admitted to longing for love, she is in no hurry to settle down.
“When I was 20, I imagined getting married at 25. Then at 25, I thought I would tie the knot at 30. Now that I’m 35, I feel like everything is just right,” she shared.
She explained that while she used to prioritise work, she now makes an effort to socialise more. However, she acknowledged that being her partner would come with certain pressures.
“f I ever decide to get married, I’ll let everyone know, but for now, it still feels far off.”
Friends more eager than she is
Katy revealed that her friends are more anxious about her love life than she is, constantly introducing her to potential partners. However, she prefers to take things at her own pace.
She also admitted to feeling envious when she attended her good friend Grace Chan’s family gathering, seeing her friend’s children. As someone who adores kids, she enjoys helping out and even joked that she already feels like “half a mother.”
Short but memorable trip to Malaysia
During her visit to Malaysia, Katy indulged in her favourite local delicacies, such as bak kut teh and curry noodles, and explored a few shopping malls.
This trip was too short—I’m already heading back to Hong Kong. I’m looking forward to returning, and I definitely want to visit Penang and Malacca next time.”
Past business venture in Malaysia
Previously, Katy co-invested in a hotpot restaurant in Malaysia with a friend, but it was forced to shut down due to the pandemic. While she considered reopening a new outlet last year, she ultimately hesitated.
If I can’t personally manage it, I wouldn’t feel comfortable. I prefer being hands-on with my work. Perhaps in the future, I’ll explore other ways to run a business. Hopefully, everyone will continue to support me.”
