If you were running an errand at a bank and find yourself coming across a stack of fresh RM50 notes sitting at a cash deposit machine, what would you do? Will you take it or search for the rightful owner?
A Malaysian was praised for his honesty after he chose to publicly remind the owner to retrieve the lost money instead of keeping it for himself.
Honest M’sian looks for owner of RM50 notes found at cash deposit machine
In a post shared to the  Sungai Petani Facebook community group SP人 yesterday (Jan 6), the netizen wrote in the caption that he had found a total of RM550 at a cash deposit machine located at a Hong Leong Bank branch in Legenda Heights at 9am.

“The machine didn’t accept your 11 notes of RM50. Kindly head over to the bank and collect the money from the staff,” the netizen added.
Unsurprisingly, the netizen’s act of honestly went viral online and garnered much deserved praise from the public, who commended him for not being greedy and pocketing the cash.
‘Thumbs up for this person! It’s not easy to earn a living nowadays and not everyone’s money ‘rushes’ in like a gust of wind. A virtuous person earns money with his own hands.’

‘Some people are really kind and civic-minded. If it were me who found the money, it would definitely be gg…’

One joked about how rare it was for him to come across such a huge sum of money lying around in public.

Another casted doubt of the netizen’s level of honesty, saying that things might have turned out differently if there wasn’t a CCTV present.

Would you be able to do what the netizen did by looking for the rightful owner? Let us know in the comments!
