A Singaporean woman displayed remarkable honesty after discovering a winning 4D lottery ticket worth S$10,000 (approx RM32,900) at a temple.
Instead of keeping it, she handed it over to the police in hopes of finding its rightful owner.
63-year-old Chen Yiming (transliteration) was watching a lion dance performance at Loyang Tua Pek Kong temple in Singapore on Jan 3 when she spotted the ticket on the ground.

Despite searching for the owner, she was unable to locate them.
Woman monitored 4D numbers on the ticket
Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, Ms. Chen shared that the ticket contained bets for the 4D draws on Feb 8 and 9.
The punter had placed S$2 (approx RM6.60) each on the numbers 3388 and 8833 for both big and small bets.

As an avid 4D player herself, Ms. Chen understood the importance of the ticket and decided to keep an eye on the numbers.
She believed the owner would be “very anxious” if the numbers were drawn.
Winning number prompted her to act
In an unexpected turn, 3388 won the 1st Prize in the Feb 9 draw. Upon realizing this, Ms. Chen immediately went to the Sengkang Neighbourhood Police Centre to report the incident and surrender the ticket.

When asked if she ever considered keeping the winnings, Ms. Chen firmly stated, “What’s mine is mine. I don’t want money that’s not mine.”
Based on the ticket’s bets, the winner stood to receive S$10,000 (approx RM32,900).
Cashing in someone else’s winning ticket is a crime
While the rightful owner of the ticket remains unknown, Ms. Chen’s actions have been widely praised for their integrity.
