The Dewan Rakyat descended into chaos today during the 13th Malaysia Plan debate after a war of words erupted between PAS and DAP MPs.
What happened?
During the 13th Malaysia Plan debate, Marang MP and PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang made remarks some MPs said were off-topic, claiming Kuala Lumpur had become “problematic” under DAP, BN, and PH leadership.

Kampar MP Chong Zhemin (DAP) argued that Hadi’s comments had no direct link to the 13MP and might confuse the public.

He cited the Parliament rules, but it was not well received by the PN group of MPs, where they started arguing.
Heated arguement between PN & DAP MPs
Besut MP then questioned Kampar MP over the rules being ironed out, to which Kampar MP once again stressed that the rules were applicable and reminded the PAS president to focus solely on the 13th Malaysia Plan.
Jelutong MP RSN Rayer then began his speech by saying he respects PAS president Hadi Awang, but was interrupted by several PN MPs who shouted “Kurang Ajar,” to which he responded that they were the ones who were “Kurang Ajar.”

Rayer further questioned why Pendang MP was being rude to him despite his respect for the PAS president, and asked why he claimed Kuala Lumpur was problematic due to DAP and BN, to which Pendang MP replied, “This is correct” (“Betul lah”).
Jelutong MP calls PAS a “Parti Ajaran Sesat”
Parliament then continued to argue over the statement, after which Jelutong MP Rayer asked whether it would be acceptable to describe PAS as a “Parti Ajaran Sesat” (deviant party), which immediately drew strong protests from PAS MPs.
Temporary chairperson Pulai MP Suhaizan Kayat handed control back to Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul, who ordered all MPs to sit down and resume the debate.
