This comical moment was shared by TikTok user @mieehoon2, who posted a video of them frantically trying to chase the insect away. And let’s just say, their reaction was priceless.
The great cicada hunt
In the video, the tiny invader—a cicada—was seen flying around and perching on different spots in the room, while the group of men struggled to get it out.
One of them even attempted to trap it using a basket… with holes. Not surprisingly, this brilliant plan failed, leaving netizens howling with laughter.

Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, the OP, Nazreen, shared that the chaos began around 1am when the insect flew into their room.
Thinking it was just a large fly, they got closer only to realise it was actually a cicada.
At first, we tried trapping it with a basket, but we failed, and the cicada ended up flying straight into our guitar,” he recalled.
After multiple failed attempts, they finally managed to trap it using a container and set it free outside—bringing an end to their unexpected late-night ‘mission’.
A night to remember
The video quickly went viral, racking up over 500K views and more than 900 comments from amused netizens who couldn’t get over the men’s reaction.
One person joked, “Men are so easily entertained.”
