The women’s coach, which was first introduced in 2023, was designed specifically for female passengers to have a comfortable ride and protect them from sexual harassment.
However, there are still several male passengers who disregard the rules and ‘park’ themselves inside the women’s coach, much the discomfort and annoyance of many.
Caught sitting inside women’s coach
One such instance was captured in a series of photos and uploaded to Xiaohongshu (XHS) by a woman named @AmelieLily, who recounted the rather unnerving experience.
In one of the photos, it showed a group of three men sitting inside the women’s coach while onboard the Putrajaya MRT line.

One of the men apparently got way too comfortable and even placed his feet on the seat after taking off his slippers.
In the caption, Amelie wrote that she felt as though the men kept staring at her direction all throughout the ride, adding one of them began recording on his handphone.

Group of men get chased out by RapidKL staff
As she grew increasingly unnerved by the men’s presence inside the women’s coach, Amelie took photos of them and reached out to RapidKL via WhatsApp, where she informed them of the exact coach the men were in.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for RapidKL to respond, where they said their staff would board the coach shortly.

True to their word, several RapidKL staff boarded the coach and instructed the men to leave immediately, leading Amelie to praise them for their efficiency.
Not the first time
In the comment section, netizens also shared their own experiences of dealing with or encountering men who were seen sitting inside women coaches.
‘Everyone seeks help from RapidKL via WhatsApp. But I don’t know whether it was me being too brave as I’d go up to the person and say, ‘Sorry, here’s for girls only. Go there (to the normal coach).’

‘There was a time I was sitting in the women’s coach, and a Malay guy came up to me and asked whether he could sit beside me. When I said this was a women’s coach, he walked away. Why is he asking if he already knew the answer?’
