Grandchild Of Tun Mahathir Loses RM1.8mil After Bukit Ledang Home Broken Into

Suspects are still at large.
A burglary at the Bukit Ledang residence of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s grandchild has resulted in an estimated loss of RM1.8 million, primarily in stolen jewellery.

Domestic helper discovered break-in

The incident reportedly occurred two days ago and was discovered at around 3pm when the victim’s domestic helper noticed something unusual.

According to Harian Metro, the helper contacted the victim to report that the back gate of the house had been cut open, and that an intruder had accessed the victim’s room.

Upon inspection, the victim found visible signs of forced entry and realised that several valuable items had gone missing.

RM1.8mil in jewellery stolen

Acting Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan confirmed the incident and stated that the total loss was estimated to be around RM1.8 million.

He added that the stolen items consisted mostly of jewellery kept in the victim’s room. As of now, the suspect has not been identified.

Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the residence to assist in identifying those involved.
