PETALING JAYA – In conjunction with the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program, Grab Malaysia announced that it will be providing promotional rides for senior citizens travelling to authorized vaccination centres nationwide starting June 12.
Discounted rides of up to RM8 off for a total of 4 rides will be offered to both vaccine doses for those aged 60 and above starting June 12.
This initiative aims to encourage senior citizens not to miss their vaccination appointment by giving easy access to rides via the Grab app.
A lack of transport has often been cited as the main reason behind low registration rates for the COVID-19 vaccine among senior citizens.
“At Grab, we have always believed in addressing Malaysians’ most critical needs through our services, especially during difficult times.”
“The quicker we can achieve herd immunity, the sooner our communities will be able to recover while also helping our economy to rebuild itself.”
“Hence, we hope that through lending our technology, network and reach, we can contribute to the government’s national vaccination efforts,” said Sean Goh, the Managing Director of Grab Malaysia.
Southeast Asia’s leading company will be working hand in hand with the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI) and COVID-19 Immunisation Special Task Force (CITF) to ensure all vaccination centers are made available for the promotion.
For senior citizens who have received their COVID-19 vaccination appointment, you can book a Grab ride in these easy steps:
- Register for a Grab account and verify your age on GrabPay by June 7 2021 (users will need to complete their KYC registration);
- On the appointment day, book a Grab ride (open to all ride types) by entering the vaccination centre’s location;
- Copy and paste the promo code from your inbox into the “Offer” tab;
- Promo is also applicable for all payment methods;
- Upon completing their vaccination, users can then book a Grab ride from the vaccination centre to their homes.
Be sure to spread the word and ensure that your relatives and friends get vaccinated!
