One of the most special things about Malaysians is how caring and kind we are to each other.
But when a Malaysian mother expecting her fifth child publicly shared that she was struggling and needed help preparing for the birth, the response online wasn’t what most expected.
Pregnant mum asks for help online
According to mStar, the woman said she was 33 weeks and four days pregnant but had not made any preparations for childbirth ase she and her family were in a tight financial situation.

She explained that her previous children’s clothes had been eaten by termites and that her husband hadn’t worked for the past two weeks because they didn’t have a vehicle, making it even tougher to cope.
‘Get a condom!’
Rather than words of sympathy, the post drew several sharp responses.
One netizen didn’t hide their feelings and urged the mother to not have more children in the future, given her current circumstances.

The netizen also suggested that she visit a health clinic to learn about family planning services and to ask for condoms.
On the other hand, while some acknowledged that planning for a family’s future is important, they reminded others to speak gently when addressing someone in a vulnerable situation.
