It was supposed to be a thrilling moment for Malaysian VIPs as fans of G-Dragon were buzzing with anticipation as pre-sales for his “Übermensch” tour in Kuala Lumpur kicked off.
But what was meant to be an exciting day quickly turned into frustration and fury, as scalpers hijacked the ticketing process and left many fans empty-handed.

Pre-sales now open
Today (May 27), the Hong Leong Bank pre-sale for G-Dragon’s KL concert opened at 3pm, which saw many Malaysian fans eagerly waiting by their devices, hoping to secure seats for the highly anticipated event.
Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, one die-hard fan told us she began queueing online at 3.30pm but was unable to secure a ticket.
Even though she was disappointed, she remained determined to keep trying, saying, “No matter what, I’ll get the ticket today even if it means I have to wait for hours.”

Unfortunately, she wasn’t alone in her struggle.
Scalpers allegedly sweep up G-Dragon KL concert tickets
In a viral X post, it shows scalpers reselling concert tickets — originally priced at RM999 — for up to RM4,000 soon after ticket sales opened.
Some were even demanding an additional RM900 on top of the ticket price, stating there would be “no negotiation”.

In one screenshot of the photos they shared, a netizen was seen asking the seller if they had used a “bypass” method or were an insider.
The seller admitted to using a “bypass”, which the OP explained in further detail.
Cut the queue — skipped the stick man in the waiting list. Meaning, they didn’t queue at all. Just went straight into the website and checked out.”
Over on Xiaohongshu, some netizens discovered scalpers listing tickets for as high as RM16,000 each, while others revealed different scalper prices from various sources in the comment section of the same post.
As news of the scalping and alleged bot purchases spread, fans across social media began calling for stricter measures and better systems to ensure a fair ticketing process, especially for local fans who truly wanted to attend the show.
While excitement for the concert remains, many feel disappointed and hope such issues won’t repeat in future ticketing events.
What do you think? Should there be stricter anti-scalping laws or better ticketing systems in place? Let us know in the comments.
