Ever since K-pop megastar G-Dragon announced his upcoming tour to Malaysia on June 19 and 20, Malaysian fans have been swarming to snag tickets to watch him live in action.
Alas for one fan, her joy over thinking she had secured tickets to G-Dragon’s concert quickly dissipated when she realised she had booked herself to see a completely different artist who happened to share the letter ‘G’ in his stage name.
G-Dragon tickets? Not today, says Kenny G
In a hilarious Xiaohongshu post shared by the OP, she wrote that she had gone through the hassle of ‘fighting’ with other fans in buying G-Dragon concert tickets, succeeded in getting in line, and finally paid for the tickets.
However, when she got an notification informing her of her successful procurement of tickets, she was stunned to discover that she had actually bought tickets to see American saxophonist Kenny G, not G-Dragon.

“I was so emotional and happy when I thought I had finally booked G-Dragon concert tickets, only to find out I had booked to see Kenny G instead,” she lamented and called herself an “idiot” in the caption.
For those who are too young to know who Kenny G is, he’s a renowned saxophonist who’s known for his soulful jazzy tunes such as ‘Forever in Love’ and ‘Songbird’.

Netizens try to comfort OP
In the comment section, netizens were roaring with laughter over the OP’s mix-up between the two artistes and tried to cheer her up.
One jokingly suggested that the OP request Kenny G to play G-Dragon’s ‘Crayon’ on his saxophone (don’t know how it will turn out though).

Another simply posted an edited photo of G-Dragon playing the saxophone while on stage and gave him the new stage name of ‘Kenny G-Dragon’.

A netizen told the OP that she wasn’t the only to make the same mistake and encouraged her to enjoy the show, with the OP agreeing that Kenny G was a talented musician too.

Aside from name mix-ups, fans also had to contend with G-Dragon concert tickets being hoarded by scalpers and resold at insane prices:
