Traffic jams in the Klang Valley are already notorious, but during Ramadan, the situation can become even more challenging as many people rush home in time to break fast.
Recently, a Malaysian man took to social media to vent his frustration after getting stuck in a massive traffic jam near Gateway Puchong along the LDP Highway heading towards Putrajaya.
“From 4:40pm until almost 8pm still stuck”
In his post, the man claimed the jam started around 4:40pm, but even close to 8pm, traffic was still barely moving.

He alleged that the congestion was caused after a trailer created an issue on the road, triggering a long build-up of vehicles during peak hour.
The situation was particularly stressful as it happened during Ramadan, when many drivers were trying to get home before iftar (breaking fast).
Some drivers even had to break fast on the road
Many netizens quickly chimed in, sharing that they had experienced the same jam that evening.

One driver said the situation became worse because motorists were cutting across lanes just to exit towards Seri Kembangan, turning what should have been three lanes into just one moving lane.
Another commenter said Ramadan traffic tends to test one’s patience even more.
One motorist even shared that he eventually stopped at a nearby petrol station to break fast because the traffic simply wasn’t moving.
After eating, having Maghrib prayers, and waiting in the parking lot with coffee, the jam was still there.
He said the traffic only started to ease around 9pm, and once it cleared, it took him just 10 minutes to reach home.
“LDP has always tested people’s patience”
Others joked that switching to a motorcycle might be the better option.

One commenter compared the difference:
- By car: 4:40pm – 8pm
- By motorcycle: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Another netizen summed it up perfectly by saying the LDP Highway has always been a test of patience for Klang Valley drivers.
