The academy also released a 25-second video showing him taking steps with the help of two medical staff. In the background, the person recording can be heard saying emotionally, “Thank God.”

On Sept 7, Wong was involved in a severe motorcycle accident in northern Sydney and was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

Another motorcyclist involved in the crash died at the scene, while Wong suffered multiple major injuries and was rushed into intensive care.

He underwent several surgeries for fractures to his hip, lower limbs, face, shoulder, and neck, along with serious head and spinal trauma. He was later transferred to a specialist spinal treatment hospital for continued care and rehabilitation.

Wong’s improving condition has brought relief to fans, friends, and the Malaysian badminton community. His ability to stand and walk short distances with assistance is seen as a significant and encouraging milestone in what is expected to be a long recovery journey.
