Nowadays, more and more places are adopting a cashless system in order to reduce errors and increase efficiency in managing transactions.
However, not all are warming up to the idea of using cashless payments, as one Lithuanian man expressed in a viral TikTok clip.
‘Why isn’t cash accepted?’
In the clip, the man is seen arriving at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and looks to buy a KLIA Express ticket to KL Sentral.
He then approaches two officers and asks for help, where he is directed to a ticket kiosk. When he inquires about the payment method, he was dismayed to hear that only payments made via e-wallets or credit/debit cards are accepted.

The man then checks with another officer on whether this was true, only to be left in disbelief that it was the case. It also prompted him to say this was his “first negative review” over cash not being accepted as that was all he had with him.
Moments later, he proceeds to buy a KLIA Express ticket using a bank card, adding that he “doesn’t like to do this, but obviously it’s going to have to be it”.

Although the man praised the entire purchase as a “quick transaction”, he still couldn’t stop griping over the cashless payment method, quipping, “What kind of train station doesn’t take cash?”
‘It’s 2025 already!’
In the comments, netizens were baffled by the man’s rant over being made to use a cashless payment method to buy the ticket, with one commenting that it was a much safer form of transaction and asked the man “when he was going to advance”.

Another slammed the man for his criticism when he failed to do his own research beforehand.

Meanwhile, others expressed concern that the man would face more issues if he travels to Japan or China as cashless payment is more ubiquitous there.
