This time, a tourist was left stunned—not by the iconic Petronas Towers or nasi lemak, but by the cleanliness of Malaysia’s MRT stations.
Her First MRT Adventure in Malaysia
In a viral TikTok video, a tourist named Phoebe Jenkinson (@phoebejenkinson03) filmed her first experience taking the Kuala Lumpur MRT.
Her journey began at Bukit Bintang, where she boarded the MRT to KL Sentral before transferring to the KTM line to reach her final destination, Batu Caves.
“This is my first time taking the subway in Kuala Lumpur,” Phoebe admitted nervously at the beginning of the video.
Despite her initial apprehension, her journey on the MRT turned out to be an unexpectedly pleasant experience.
‘The Cleanest Subway I’ve Ever Taken’
What caught Phoebe’s attention was the clean condition of the MRT.
She couldn’t help but praise it, calling it “very clean and very busy” while highlighting that it was the cleanest subway she’d ever been on.
Her amazement resonated throughout the 1-minute-and-37-second clip as she shared her delight at the MRT’s facilities and efficiency.
However, things got a bit tricky when she arrived at KL Sentral to transfer to the KTM line.
A Taxi to the Rescue
At KL Sentral, Phoebe found herself a little confused. “I’m halfway there, and I’m going to get a taxi now,” she said.
Although she didn’t complete her journey using public transport, Phoebe maintained a positive outlook.
“It was still fun to take the MRT for the first time. I will take it again. The MRT is great and clean” she enthusiastically shared.
