A foreign man working as a grocery store supervisor was brutally attacked in broad daylight after he reportedly failed to pay one of his workers on time.
He later succumbed to his injuries due to the attack which took place in front of a row of shops in Shah Alam’s Section 7 on Friday (Feb 14), reported Sinar Harian.

In a statement by Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, he said police were alerted of the incident at 8.26am after the victim was found lying on the ground covered in blood by the public.

Several bystanders at the scene overheard a verbal altercation inside the grocery store, where the victim and a store employee were arguing over the issue of delayed salary payments.
“The victim was subsequently attacked with a meat cleaver and repeatedly slashed by the employee until he collapsed at the scene,” he said.
A medical examination confirmed the victim’s demise, where he sustained injuries to his head, body, and hands, believed to have been caused by a sharp weapon.

5 individuals arrested
Mohd Iqbal said five foreigners, which consisted of three men aged 37, 39, and 33, as well as two women aged 44 and 53, were later arrested at around 1.49pm in front of the grocery store.
Background checks showed none of them had prior criminal records and all of them tested negative for drugs. They have been remanded for seven days for further investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
