A foreign man who caused a disturbance at Kuala Lumpur International Airport after missing his flight has pleaded guilty to intentionally causing injury.
The incident took place at KLIA Terminal 2 on Sunday (April 5) at around 10.30am, where the 33-year-old man was waiting to board a flight to Hat Yai, Thailand.
Missed flight triggered outburst
According to Sin Chew Daily, KLIA district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ravi shared that the man became aggressive after realising he had missed his flight.
Investigations later revealed that he was also dealing with personal stress related to a disagreement with his wife over child custody, which contributed to his emotional outburst.

A security guard was injured
During the incident, the man reportedly smashed the glass of a currency exchange counter, knocked over a flight information display, and threw a water bottle at the counter.
His actions also resulted in injuries to a security guard at the scene.
Police arrested him shortly after at the international currency exchange area in the terminal.

Pleaded guilty in court
The man was charged at the Sepang Court on Tuesday (April 7) under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, as well as Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
He pleaded guilty to the charges. However, authorities did not disclose details of his sentencing.
Following the incident, police reminded the public to remain calm and comply with airport security personnel at all times.
They also stressed the importance of maintaining order, especially in public areas such as KLIA Terminals 1 and 2.
