‘Too Many Cars To Keep Track’, Claim M’sian Luxury Car Owners Over Expired Road Tax & Insurance

Nice try,
A group of luxury car owners were recently intercepted by Road Transport Department (JPJ) officers at Persiaran Setia Perdana in Setia Alam recently for various offences.

When asked to explain, the owners had nothing but weak excuses to give for breaking the law.

Found with expired road tax, insurance

According to a report by Sinar Harian, all of the car owners were detained during ‘Ops Luxury’, which was conducted from 10.56am to 1.27pm on Wednesday (Apr 1).

Selangor Road Transport Department (JPJ) director Azrin Borhan said the owners were driving various luxury cars such as a BMW, Mini Countryman, Denza, Tesla, and Toyota Alphard towards Setia Alam and Section 7.

“Inspections found that the road tax for all vehicles had expired for one to two years, and that they did not have valid insurance coverage.

“When questioned, they gave various excuses such as not having enough money or time, as well as owning too many vehicles which caused them to be unaware that the road tax had expired,” he said.

Vehicles seized

Borhan said one of the cars was registered to a company where one of the owners’ worked, adding that further checks found that two of the car owners had previous traffic offences.

All of the cars were subsequently seized and taken to the JPJ Shah Alam headquarters for further action.
