A large-scale police operation took place in Bangsar South after officers uncovered an office that was allegedly running as an online gambling hub.
According to China Press, more than 100 employees were detained during the raid.
Police move in with multiple vehicles
Several police cars were spotted arriving at a commercial building in Bangsar South on yesterday evening (Aug 26).
The sudden operation drew attention from the public as police cordoned off the area.
A video circulating online showed multiple boxes of documents wrapped in black plastic being moved into a police lorry.
Staff from the company were also seen queuing up to board the lorry as they were brought in to assist with investigations.

Several posts on XiaoHongShu claimed that friends of those working at the company have been unable to reach them since the raid.
They alleged that many detainees remain uncontactable as investigations continue. Some users on XiaoHongShu also shared that they had previously applied for jobs at the company.
They said the firm appeared attractive as it offered a wide range of products and services and claimed to have operations in multiple countries.
Fintech front suspected of gambling activities
China Press also reported that the fintech company was allegedly used to manage online gambling platforms catering to both local and international clients.

During the raid, police reportedly detained over 100 staff members, including both Malaysians and foreigners.
Officers also seized electronic devices, company documents, and other equipment believed to be linked to the illegal operations.
