A Thai auntie selling fruit by the highway has gone viral for her enthusiastic chant of “Malaysia Boleh!” and her heartwarming interaction with a Malaysian driver.
According to a video posted on TikTok, the incident is speculated to have taken place near the Thailand-Malaysia border, as several Malaysian car plates were visible in the background.
Speaking Malay and Hokkien
In the video, the Thai auntie is seen energetically yelling “Malaysia Boleh!” while selling a huge plate of fruit.
As a Malaysian driver approached her, she surprised him by speaking in Hokkien.
When asked about her fluency, she modestly admitted that she only knows a little Hokkien.
Bought all of her fruit
After a brief and friendly conversation, the driver decided to buy all the fruit she had.
Initially, the auntie did not understand his intention, but after some explanation, she gladly agreed and sold all her fruit for 600 Thai Baht.
In a touching gesture, the auntie proceeded to give away all the fruit to passersby after the driver took just one piece.
This generous act has warmed the hearts of many, further boosting the video’s popularity on social media.
