Just days after mourning the loss of a beloved daughter, a grieving family has been hit by a second tragedy, the sudden death of another relative.
Grief compounded by another loss
Datuk Rajpal Singh, the uncle of 20-year-old Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara, revealed that his 57-year-old cousin passed away early Friday morning — three days after Maniishapriet was found dead in her student residence in Cyberjaya.

He shared that his cousin had travelled from Johor Bahru to attend Manisha’s funeral, but around 3am, she began experiencing breathing difficulties and needed to be rushed to the hospital.
Not long after, she was confirmed dead. I’m not sure what caused it, but maybe it was due to stress and exhaustion.”
According to Harian Metro, he added that the late cousin’s cremation will be held at the same location as Maniishapriet’s, at Jalan Loke Yew crematorium.
Cyberjaya student murder, three suspects arrested

Maniishapriet, a university student, was found dead with head injuries in her campus-provided condominium unit in Cyberjaya on Tuesday.
Three suspects — including two women aged between 19 and 20 — were arrested in separate operations in Johor Bahru and Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan on Thursday and Friday.
Rajpal, who is also a lawyer, said the family has placed their trust in the police to carry out a full investigation.
He shared that he first learned about the suspects’ arrest through news reports, as he had not yet contacted the investigating officer due to being occupied with funeral arrangements.
I’m thankful and will leave the investigation entirely to the police.”
Swift police action
Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman, confirmed the arrests and said the operation was carried out with help from Bukit Aman, Selangor Police Headquarters, and the Sepang District Police Headquarters.
All three suspects were detained within 48 hours after the initial report was filed.
