‘Thank You For Your Trust In Me’ — Fadhlina Sidek Thanks PM For Letting Her Remain As MOE Minister

Still around.
Yesterday (Dec 16), Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the latest changes to the Cabinet line-up, which saw some being dropped from their portfolio and new faces taking over.

However, there were some who held on to their positions, one of them being Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

‘Thank you, PM’

Following the Cabinet announcement, Fadhlina expressed her gratitude to Anwar for retaining her as Education Minister.

I would like to record my gratitude and appreciation for the trust placed in me to continue serving the ministry.

“God willing, we will strive to do better, and most certainly do what is best for our education system and for our children,” she told reporters.

Fadhlina also acknowledged the criticism levied towards her and vowed to use them as a source of motivation to improve her performance.

“Honest, fact-based criticism is the voice of the people. It must be received with an open heart, because that is where improvements can be made.

“Any leader must face this with maturity and have the courage to provide answers.”

Faced calls for resignation

Fadhlina’s tenure as Education Minister has been anything but smooth no thanks to cases of bullying and murder taking place under her watch.

Among those that made national headlines were that of Zara Qairina and Yap Shing Xuen, whose deaths on school grounds sparked national outcry.

The PKR Wanita chief also faced calls for her to be terminated from her position, with student protestors marching to Parliament and demanding several reforms to be carried out immediately.
