A Malaysian driver recently found themselves in a bizarre parking standoff—not with another car, but with a cat that had already “reserved” the spot.
In a now-viral TikTok video, the driver was reversing into a parking bay when their rear-view camera revealed an unexpected VIP (Very Important Paws) sitting smack in the middle of the space.
“Excuse me, I was here first.”
The cat, fully embracing its role as an unofficial parking attendant, stayed put like it was guarding a personal penthouse suite.
Netizens were quick to react, with one commenting, “It’s on parking duty.”
While another joked, “You should report, someone ‘chopes’ a parking spot.“

“Well, it’s called a ‘car’ for a reason. 😔”

Whether the driver eventually got the space or had to negotiate terms with the fluffy parking enforcer remains unknown.
But one thing is clear—if cats were in charge of parking, you’d need more than just a honk to get them to move. Maybe a treaty. Or at least some wet food.
