A tragic twist has emerged in the case of the young couple found dead in Guar Chempedak, Kedah.
The pair, who were planning to get engaged soon, were brutally killed after a heated argument, and police are now hunting the woman’s ex-husband, who was allegedly seen at the scene.
Engaged soon, but tragedy struck first
The victims have been identified as 30-year-old Asraf, also known as “Pakku”, and 28-year-old Nurul Nushamira, a single mother of two.
The pair were reportedly planning to get engaged soon and even had dreams of moving into their new home together after the wedding.
Those plans, however, ended in heartbreak when residents at Taman Nona, Guar Chempedak stumbled upon a blood-soaked scene on Thursday night (Sept 11).

Asraf’s body was found lying on the road, while Nurul was discovered dead inside a Perodua Wira just a few metres away. Both bore multiple stab wounds.
Police hunting ex-husband seen at scene
Yan District Police Chief Superintendent Mohamad Hamizi Abdullah confirmed that investigators are now tracking down Nurul’s former husband, who was allegedly spotted near the crime scene.
“We are calling him in to assist with investigations,” he said, adding that police are looking into every possible angle, including jealousy and crime of passion motives.
Argument before murder
According to witnesses, Asraf was seen arguing heatedly with another man shortly before the murder. One man then left the scene in a car, and minutes later, the bodies were discovered.
The Kedah Forensics Unit and K9 team have since scoured the area for evidence, with investigations continuing late into the night.

No arrests yet
Both bodies have been sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for post-mortem examinations as police work to piece together the timeline of events.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
As of now, no arrests have been made.
