The husband of the woman who drowned with her 3-year-old daughter at Pulau Ketam pier earlier this month has spoken publicly for the first time.
Overcome with grief, he broke down several times when recalling his daughter, saying she was the most pitiful victim in the tragedy.
Remembering a loving and well-behaved child
Accompanied by Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, the 40-year-old man, Mr Fong, told China Press that his late daughter was obedient, adorable, and loved by everyone.

He shared that although she was young, she held a pen like an adult when writing, and he had planned to give her the best education.
Close bond with his ex-wife
Fong said he always followed his late wife’s wishes, accompanying her wherever she wanted to go or eat.
If she felt unhappy staying at his family’s home, he would take her back to her parents’ house.
He learned about the deaths from his sister and was in shock.
There are many videos online, but I can’t bear to watch them. I was almost 40 when I had my daughter, how could I not love her?” he said tearfully.
A tragedy that stunned the community
The incident occurred at around 6.42 am on August 6 at Pulau Ketam pier in Selangor.
The victim, 41-year-old Lim, left her Shah Alam home with her daughter before they were both found drowned.
