Ex-Aide To M’sian Minister Cries In Court After Judge Hands Down RM8.8mil Fine, 6-Year Jail Sentence For Bribery

The judge also told him to "repent and be better."
A former aide to a federal minister couldn’t stop the tears from flowing after a judge ordered him to serve time in jail and pay a hefty fine.

This comes after Kuala Lumpur Sessions court judge Suzana Hussin ruled that the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubt in the case.

Accused of taking RM1.7mil in bribes

According to FMT, Saifullah Minggu, who was an aide to then-tourism, arts and culture minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi, was slapped with eight charges of accepting RM1,765,000 in bribes from the owner of Inter Bev Network Sdn Bhd.
