Employees Provident Fund has just announced its dividend payout for the financial year 2025, but while many members rushed to check their savings, some were instead met with a virtual queue.
Shortly after the announcement, users attempting to log into the EPF mobile app reported being placed on hold due to high traffic.
Instead of seeing their updated balances immediately, they were greeted with a message asking them to wait their turn.

Surge in logins after dividend reveal
Earlier today, EPF declared a dividend rate of 6.15% for both conventional savings and Syariah savings for 2025.
The figure marks a slight decrease from last year’s 6.30% dividend for both account types.
As with every annual announcement, the update triggered a spike in logins, with members eager to calculate how much they earned from the latest payout.
It appears the sudden surge in traffic temporarily overwhelmed the system, resulting in a queue system being activated on the app.

Members eager to check their balances
For many Malaysians, the EPF dividend announcement is a highly anticipated event.
Some check to see how close they are to their retirement goals, while others compare this year’s rate to previous years.
With 6.15% being slightly lower than the 6.30% declared in 2024, members may be even more curious to see how the difference affects their total savings.
This heightened curiosity likely contributed to the rush to log in all at once.
