Entire M’sian Family Of 5 Killed In Car Crash In Pahang

Two others were injured.
Five family members lost their lives in an instant after they got into a horrible three-vehicle crash on Jalan Nenasi-Rompin, near Kampung Sembayan, yesterday evening (Jan 11).

Photos of the aftermath were also shared widely online, where it showed the cars being completely torn apart due to the crash’s devastating impact.

Acting Director of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Pahang, Wan Ahmad Fadillah Wan Abdul Rahman, said in a statement that 23 personnel from the Kuala Rompin and Nenasi Fire and Rescue Stations were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at approximately 7.14pm.

“Upon the fire brigade’s arrival, we found that the accident involved a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), a Nissan Grand Livina, and a Proton Wira Aeroback.

“The operation utilized various equipment, including a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT), Toyota Hilux, Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT), and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), to provide emergency assistance,” he said.

A man and a woman in the Nissan Grand Livina sustained injuries, while five victims were trapped in the Proton Wira Aeroback.

While firefighters managed to extricate the victims’ bodies from the Proton Wira Aeroback, all were pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers.

Their remains were taken Pekan Hospital for post-mortem examinations, while the driver and passenger of the Nissan Grand Livina are currently receiving treatment at Rompin Hospital.

The case has been handed over to the police for further investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Meanwhile, Pekan district police chief, Superintendent Mohd Zaidi Mat Zin said the identities of the five victims have been identified.

They were Hamzah Zahari, his wife Rahimah Awang Muda, and their children Ainul Mardhiyah, Muhammad Luqman Nur Hakim, and Muhammad Lutfi.

“Preliminary investigations revealed the family was traveling from Rompin towards Nenasi, while the MPV driver was heading from Kuantan to Rompin.

“Upon reaching the scene, the victim’s vehicle lost control and veered into the opposite lane, colliding with the MPV,” he said.

The case is now being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving causing death.
