Engaged Johor Couple Caught For Khalwat At Hotel Room, Claimed They Wanted A ‘Test Drive’ Before Wedding

The wedding was scheduled to be held in a month.
A couple who were about to tie the knot in a month’s time were caught like deer in headlights after officers from the Johor Religious Department (JAINJ) caught them committing ‘khalwat’ (close proximity) at a hotel room in Kluang, Johor.

The incident was brought to light in a Facebook post by JAINJ, where a spokesperson revealed in detail what had transpired.

Claimed to be alone inside hotel room

In the post, the spokesperson said the raid took place at around 1.30am yesterday (Nov 30), where officers knocked on the door of the hotel room for five straight minutes.

A woman then came to open the door and told officers that she was the only one inside. However, they weren’t convinced and made their way inside for further inspection.

Upon turning on the lights, they found a man hiding under a table while clad in long pants and a T-shirt.

A ‘test drive’ before marriage?

Upon further questioning, the couple told officers found that the hotel room was booked under the woman’s name and she had travelled to Kluang from another state to meet her partner.

They also said they had just left the man’s house after meeting her future mother-in-law and wanted to discuss certain matters about the upcoming wedding at a quiet place without disturbance.

After the man sent his partner back to the hotel room, he used the bathroom before eventually deciding to stay the night.

In the post, the spokesperson described the sight of the hotel bed as  “a mess after the storm”.

Their relationship had yet to be become ‘halal’, but they decided to give a ‘test drive’ on each other.

“That night would be their last time seeing each other before their wedding. Due to the fact that they had a long-distance relationship, they decided to stay together in the hotel room, just a month before their wedding,” said the spokesperson.
