For over 10 years, an elderly couple in Sichuan, China, has devoted their lives—and their retirement savings—to caring for stray cats and dogs in their community.
Their incredible act of compassion was highlighted in a heartfelt video shared by Xiaohongshu user @Tsuki33u77 on Dec. 20, showcasing their unwavering commitment to helping animals in need, even after the loss of their only son.
Every morning at 6am and again at 6pm, the couple can be seen cycling to various spots in their neighbourhood, feeding stray cats and dogs.
Their routine doesn’t stop there—they’ve also taken in five dogs and two cats, giving these animals a second chance at life.

The netizen noted that their efforts extend beyond food.
Many of the strays they’ve rescued suffer from severe conditions such as blindness, injuries from accidents, and skin diseases.

Some were abandoned by their owners, left to fend for themselves.
The netizen revealed that the pair never intended to document their acts of kindness, as they believed in helping others without expecting praise.
However, the video was shared to encourage others to be more compassionate toward animals.
When you grow tired of them, they are left on the streets. Not everyone has to love animals, but we must at least show kindness,” she said.
