Travelling via an e-hailing service can introduce passengers to a wide variety of drivers. While some are pleasant and professional, others can be downright terrifying.
A recent viral video posted on the social media platform Xiaohongshu by user 吐奶野草, where he found himself being ‘trapped’ with an extremely angry driver.
Swearing while driving through traffic
In the clip, the e-hailing driver can be heard swearing continuously at other road users, using words such as ‘idiot’ and ‘m*ron’, along with other offensive language.
The netizen who filmed the driver’s outburst claimed that he displayed severe road rage towards the end of the journey, making the ride an unsettling experience.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the OP shared he was going from Sungai Besi Salak Selatan to a café in Bukit Jalil.

He said that the driver didn’t talk to him, aside from asking whether he wanted to take a route which would require passing through a toll booth, subtly suggesting that he would have to cover the additional cost.
That time, Waze didn’t show heavy traffic on the usual route and it was unnecessary to go through a toll.
“When I declined, the driver responded sarcastically, saying, ‘It’s okay, just that it wasted two minutes of my life.’

The OP added that when he was about to arrive at the café, the driver began mouthing off as more cars appeared on the road.
“Luckily I arrived at the destination without further trouble,” he said.
Netizens’ reaction
The post quickly went viral and netizens expressed concern over the OP’s safety as he was stuck with a driver who seemed to have severe anger issues.
“Just report them. Otherwise, more and more reckless drivers will appear.”

“But maybe they are deliberately saying it for you to hear. When you confront them, they will pretend that they were scolding another car, not you. What can you do with the recording as evidence?”

“Every time I take Grab or other ride-hailing apps, they always take the toll road. 80% of Grab drivers do this. The roads without tolls are actually better, but they still prefer to take the toll roads, which are more congested.”
