A food delivery rider was tragically killed in Johor after a BMW rammed into him, causing him to be killed at the scene.
Police investigations later revealed that the BMW driver was intoxicated when the accident occurred and is now in custody.

Kosmo reported that the tragedy all began when a Myanmar national riding a SYM BX110 motorcycle en route from Johor Bahru to Taman Setia Tropika before he lost control of the vehicle and crashed, resulting in his demise.
At the same time, 37-year-old Mohd. Taufik Ariff Sarif passed by the scene and decided to protect the Myanmar man’s body by directing traffic until help arrived.
Sadly, that proved to be fatal for him as a BMW ploughed into him, causing him to sustain severe injuries before succumbing to them.
A breathalyser test was later carried out on the 25-year-old BMW driver and he was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
‘Our first and last Aidilfitri together’
Mohd. Taufik’s passing has left his wife deeply grieved and inconsolable, who recounted the last moments she had with him before the fatal accident.
According to Suhaidah Yusof, she said they were on their way to their home in Bakar Batu after having dinner with friends when Mohd. Taufik stopped the car by the roadside to tend to the accident victim.
“I was the one driving, and I was still waiting in the car when I suddenly I heard a loud noise, like a vehicle crashing into something.
Then someone came and told me that my husband had been hit, and I immediately got out of the car… I saw him lying there, and that was the last time I saw him alive.
“After that, I called my brother-in-law to inform him about what happened,” she told Sinar Harian at the forensics unit of Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI).
A heartbroken Suhaidah added she and Mohd. Taufik had been married for seven months, with this year’s Raya being their first to celebrate together as a couple.
“We managed to do a Raya photoshoot this year. We were so happy because we finally got to celebrate Raya as a legally married couple. But I never imagined that those photos and memories would be our last,” she said.
BMW driver remanded for 4 days
Meanwhile, Seri Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd. Sohaimi Ishak said the BMW driver has been remanded for four days starting yesterday (Apr 13) to assist in further investigations.
The case is being investigated under Sections 41(1) and 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
