A driver had a shock of his life after he discovered that a human body was the reason for his difficulty in driving his car up a slope.
NST reported that this chilling incident took place along the Sapong-Kemabong road in Tenom, Sabah, at 12.20am today.
Had difficulty driving up slope
Tenom district police chief Deputy Superintendent Hasan Majid told the English daily the driver was making his way from Kemabong towards Tenom town.
Along the dark and dimly-lit route, the driver, who was driving a Proton Gen-2 overtook another car and felt that he had hit something.
After that, he noticed that his car felt ‘heavy’ when driving uphill. When he got down to check on his vehicle, he found a person trapped underneath his car,” he said in a statement.
Hasan said the victim suffered injuries to his body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
