SHAH ALAM – Two teenagers perished in a horrific accident when their Proton Wira was crushed by a pickup truck driving against traffic at KM8.5 of the Federal Highway at around 1.30 am today.
The two victims were identified as Nur Afiqah Abdul Karim, 18, and Muhammad Hafiz Syami Dzul Asri, 19.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said eight personnel rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 1.51 am.
“We later found the two victims trapped in their seats before removing them from the wreckage.
“They were also pronounced dead at the scene,” he said.
Norazam added that the victims’ bodies have been handed over to police for further investigation.
Urine test also revealed that the 24-year-old driver of the Triton tested positive for cannabis.
On Twitter, numerous posts of the accident were shared and subsequently went viral.
