The statement also said that a funeral service was held with his family and several relatives. While plans for a commemorative gathering for Toriyama have yet to be decided, the company said that one will be revealed soon.
Toriyama is largely known and loved for his magnus opus Dragon Ball, a manga series which has been in publication since 1984.

The long-running series tells the story of main protagonist Son Goku, who aspires to be a strong warrior and searches for the seven Dragon Balls that grants a single wish to the one who gathers them all.
Prior to his death, Toriyama “still had several works in the middle of creation”, according to the statement.
However, it’s not known whether these projects will be continued following his passing.
RIP, Toriyama. Thank you for making our childhood awesome with Dragon Ball.
