Life doesn’t always warn you before sending a storm your way. One moment everything feels normal, and the next you’re trembling in pain, far from home, with no familiar face to call for help.
But sometimes, even in the middle of the storm, a silver lining appears, in this case, a kind Grab uncle who stepped in when fate tested a young woman at her weakest.
That was the experience of a Threads user known as Mirza, whose story of receiving kindness from an e-hailing driver has now captured the hearts of Malaysians online.
Fell sick suddenly, alone and far from home
Mirza, originally from Perak but now living in Seremban, woke up early Sunday morning (Nov 16) feeling severely unwell. She was shivering uncontrollably and could barely steady herself.

Desperate for help, she went down to her apartment lobby to ask where she could find a clinic that opened on Sundays. After getting directions, she walked there despite trembling in pain, only to discover the clinic was closed.
With no choice left, she booked a Grab to another clinic. But another worry hung heavily over her: she only had RM30 left while waiting for her salary the next day.
Grab driver sees her crying and steps in
When the Grab driver arrived, he immediately noticed Mirza crying and asked about her condition. Without hesitation, he took her to the nearest clinic but it was packed.

Seeing her distress, the driver, whom she affectionately refers to as “Pak Cik”, insisted on helping more.
It’s okay dik, don’t worry about money. Let’s find somewhere else,” he told her.
Overwhelmed, Mirza cried harder, thinking of her parents who were far away. But in that moment, she felt Allah had replaced their absence with this kind stranger who refused to leave her alone.
The Grab uncle then offered to take her to a private hospital, but she declined as she couldn’t afford it. Eventually, they headed for the government hospital’s emergency department, where thankfully the process went smoothly.
Bought her breakfast, gave pocket money & checked on her later
The driver’s kindness didn’t end there.
Mirza shared that he bought her breakfast, gave her pocket money, and even texted her through WhatsApp later to check on her condition. He also offered to prepare basic necessities if she ended up being admitted.

Touched to the core, she urged others to give him 5 stars if they happen to ride with him and prayed that his livelihood is always blessed.

She also believed the man might be from the OKU (Persons with Disabilities) community, though she couldn’t confirm due to her condition at the time.
In a follow-up post, Mirza shared the Grab uncle’s message and the twist amazed everyone.
The uncle, identified as Shafie, revealed that after dropping her off, he received nonstop bookings.
Alhamdulillah, Allah rewarded what I gave after sending Mirza to the hospital. Jobs came in non-stop. I went home before Maghrib with more than RM300,” he wrote.
He also thanked social media users who praised him, as well as those who donated to him.
