A Malaysian commuter who regularly uses the MRT Taman Equine’s Park & Ride facility encountered an unexpected situation upon returning to her car on Tuesday afternoon.
With the MRT parking full this time, she legally parked in a yellow box near a row of shop lots adjacent to the station.
After parking her car at 11am and returning around 3pm, she discovered two stickers on her car windows, each displaying a ‘reminder’.
The message, written in Malay, translates to:
“Warning: If you’re taking the MRT, please do not park your car in this area. Thank you.”

Confused and frustrated, she questioned why she wasn’t allowed to park there, considering it was a legal spot.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, she suspects the stickers were placed by nearby shop owners and is now worried about potential damage to her car if she parks there again. “What if they scratch my car next time?” she wondered.
She also noted, “No wonder so few cars are parked here. I think many people encountered the same thing, making them afraid to park.”
This incident has sparked a broader discussion about whether parking in a yellow box is acceptable, regardless of the driver’s destination, given that these spaces are not privately owned.
