A video of a small dog accidentally entering an MRT station has gone viral on social media, after its brisk walk across the platform reminded many viewers of an office worker rushing to catch a train.
The clip, widely shared online, shows the dog trotting confidently along the platform at Cochrane MRT Station, drawing laughter and amusement from netizens.
With its quick, purposeful steps, many joked that the dog looked like it was late for work.
Seen running back to MyTown
According to China Press, the woman happened to be passing through the station when she spotted the dog roaming inside and decided to record the moment.
So dogs can take the MRT by themselves now?” she wrote in the caption.
She said she initially thought the dog had already left the station, but later noticed it running back toward the linkway leading to MyTown Shopping Centre, seemingly searching for its owner.
The woman added that she wanted to help locate the dog’s owner, but the dog was moving too quickly for her to catch up. Eventually, she uploaded the video online in hopes that someone would recognise the dog and come forward.
Sparks mixed reaction
Shortly after being posted, the video gained widespread attention, with many netizens playfully commenting that the dog appeared to be “rushing to catch the MRT for work.”
Others jokingly asked whether the dog had bought a ticket before entering the station.
However, some users claimed the dog is actually a stray commonly seen around the area, raising concerns about its safety.
They alleged that the dog had previously been spotted sheltering outside the station during rainy weather, only to be chased away by staff.
Many have since expressed hope that a kind-hearted individual might be willing to take the dog in, so it no longer has to wander the streets or risk being forcibly driven away again.
