Dogs are known for their fierce loyalty, where they would dive headfirst into danger if it means protecting their owner from harm.
A dog in Kedah was hailed a hero after it bravely went after two robbers seeking to inflict harm on its owner but unfortunately suffered a deep gash to its head in the process.
Dog protects owner from robbers, suffers slash wound
According to a report by Kwong Wah, the incident took place last Monday (Feb 24) at around 1am at a car repair shop.
On the day of the attempted robbery, the robbers came riding on a motorcycle and thought it would be a fairly easy heist for them.
However, they never expected to cross paths with the car repair shop owner’s dog, who noticed them coming and began barking loudly.
The dog’s barks alerted a fruit stall owner next to the car repair shop, who saw the dog getting into a scuffle with the robbers.
In the end, the robbers were successfully scared off and the workshop didn’t suffer any losses thanks to the dog’s bravery.
However, the dog was attacked with a parang (machete) by the robbers, leaving a deep gash on its head which bled profusely.
Shelter donates for dog’s medical fees
As news of the dog’s bravery spread, representatives from a dog shelter accompanied its owner to a clinic for treatment.
After spending a week in intensive care, the dog thankfully survived and was taken home to further recuperate.
Additionally, the shelter also donated over RM2,000 to pay for the dog’s medical fees.
