Diesel Price Drops By 5 Sen In M’sia, Price In Sabah & S’wak To Remain

It will be at RM3.30 per litre until Aug 14.
At the start of June this year, the government announced that it would be removing the diesel subsidy, effectively raising the price from RM2.15 to RM3.35 per litre.

However, owners of diesel vehicles can breathe a momentary sigh of relief after it was announced that diesel prices will be reduced slightly starting today.

Diesel price drops by 5 sen in M’sia, but not for Sabah & S’wak

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance (MOF), it said that the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will be reduced by five sen to RM3.30 per litre.

The reduced diesel price will come into effect today until Aug 14.

The ministry added that the move to reduce diesel prices was made in tandem with the current moderating trend in the global crude oil market prices.

The Government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust the diesel’s retail price based on global oil market fluctuations, whilst supporting price stability.

However, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will not see a drop is diesel prices and it will remain at RM2.15 per litre.

As for the retail prices of RON97 and RON95 petrol, it will stay at RM3.47 and RM2.05 per litre respectively.
