“Did The Chicken Die?!” — M’sian Woman Left Shocked After Getting RM11 Bihun With No Chicken

RM11 for a mystery meal
Ordering a bowl of chicken vermicelli soup should be simple; noodles, soup, and of course… chicken.

But for one Malaysian woman, that expectation was completely thrown off after her meal arrived missing the most important ingredient.

Taking to Threads, she didn’t hold back, writing,

What kind of business is this? I ordered chicken vermicelli soup… did the chicken die or what?!”

Ordered chicken soup… but no chicken in sight

In a video she shared, the bowl appeared to contain only plain vermicelli soaked in clear broth, with no chicken at all.

The post quickly gained traction, leaving many netizens equally confused at how a dish named after chicken could arrive completely chicken-less.

“I said no vegetables, NOT no chicken”

As the post went viral, she clarified that the empty-looking bowl wasn’t due to a mix-up in her order.

I forgot to mention earlier, there’s no vegetables because I asked for no vegetables. NOT no chicken okay!!” she explained.

She also described the taste as bland, saying it felt like “tasteless vegetable soup,” despite there being no vegetables either.

To make matters worse, she revealed she paid RM11 for the meal.

Seller admits to giving wrong order

Speaking to WeirdKaya, the woman later shared that she returned to the stall in Taman Molek, Johor Bahru, to clarify the situation.

After showing her video and transaction proof, the seller reportedly admitted that they had mistakenly given her bihun sup sayur instead.

However, she pointed out that there wasn’t even such an item listed on the menu, which left her even more confused.

“Felt like scolding… I was hungry”

Recalling the moment she first opened the container, she said she was both shocked and frustrated.

“I felt like scolding because I was hungry,” she shared.

She also admitted that she didn’t check the food on the spot, only realising something was wrong after she got home and started eating.

Calls for honesty from sellers

While the issue may have been a mistake, the woman expressed disappointment over the overall experience, especially given the price.

If I could say something to the seller, it would be; please run your business honestly. If customers come from far, it’s a pity if they can’t turn back,” she said.

She also added that the food was not only missing its main ingredient, but didn’t taste good either.

Malaysians turn it into a joke fest

As expected, the comment section quickly turned into a comedy zone.

Some users joked that the dish looked like “noodles dipped in water,” while others quipped, “Maybe the chicken is the friend we made along the way.

Another joked that the dish should just be renamed entirely, since the chicken clearly didn’t make it into the bowl.

Still, a few shared that they had experienced similar situations, receiving dishes that were missing key ingredients.

While mistakes can happen, many agreed that forgetting the main ingredient is a bit too much.

At this point, Malaysians can accept a lot… but chicken soup without chicken might just be where we draw the line.
