In times of desperation, many people are willing to go to great lengths to support their loved ones.
Whether it’s working tirelessly or selling their possessions, these sacrifices speak volumes about the human spirit and the challenges some endure just to make ends meet.
Recently, a story of a father’s struggle and a police officer’s compassion has gone viral, touching the hearts of many.
Shared on TikTok by user @bigredmachine3196, the encounter highlights a moment when a desperate father flagged down a police patrol car to sell his watch in a bid to feed his family.
‘I bought it for RM500 before, but I’m selling it to you for RM100’

According to police officer Fandy Fiera, he and his colleagues were patrolling the streets in a Police Patrol Vehicle (MPV) when a motorcyclist stopped them.
Initially, they thought the man needed directions, but they soon learned his plight.
The man, a father of two, explained that he was struggling to provide for his family and offered to sell his watch.

“Brother, I’m sorry to bother you. Could you please buy my watch? I really need money. This is an original watch. I bought it for RM500 before, but I’m selling it to you for RM100. Please help me,” the man said, his voice filled with desperation.
He needed money to buy supplies for his children
Noticing the man’s swollen left leg, Fandy asked him to move to a safer location where they could talk.

There, the father revealed that he had been tirelessly searching for work in Puchong but had no luck. He needed money to buy supplies for his children at home.
Fandy offered to give him money without taking the watch, but the father hesitated. “Brother, keep the watch. I don’t want to take it. I can’t accept this,” he said, clearly uncomfortable with accepting help.
Determined to assist, Fandy insisted on giving him the money. Overwhelmed by the officer’s gesture, the man thanked him for his kindness and support during such a difficult time.
