With the heatwave sweeping across Malaysia and sending temperatures soaring, Malaysians are melting under the sun and praying that cooler weather comes soon.
However, it seems that Malaysians aren’t the only ones that are finding the weather too hot to handle as many are reporting their Touch ‘n Go (TNG) cards undergoing grotesque ‘transformations’ due to the heat.
TNG cards unrecognisable
In a viral Threads post, a woman in Perak posted a photo of her TNG card which appeared warped and bent, with its edges slightly lifted and uneven.
In the caption, she expressed shock over the heat having the ability to make the card “deformed”, adding that thankfully the card was still usable despite its unusual appearance.
Netizens also shared photos of their TNG card having similar “transformations”, with one from Sepang showing her card that was so severely rippled that it looked as though it had undergone a terrible chiropractic experience.
Aside from TNG cards, some also reported slippers shrinking to smaller sizes caused by the intense heat.
Malaysia is currently experiencing the effects of global warming and the El Nino phenomenon, which is expected to last until early 2027.
