Personnel from the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) were met with the body of a local man whose body was rotting away at the Rawang Bypass Exit yesterday (Dec 9).
In a report by Sinar Harian, Assistant Director of Operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an initial report of the incident at 10.09am.

He said in statement that a total of 10 officers and personnel from the Rawang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the scene to handle the victim’s remains.
“The fire engine arrived at the scene at 10.16 am and the team began the task of retrieving the body,” he said.

Later, the victim was identified to be a Malaysian man aged 48 years old, which was confirmed by acting Gombak district police chief, Superintendent Abang Kaderi Abang Wasli.
“Police received information about the body’s discovery in a forested area beneath the Rawang Bypass at 9.30 am, where the victim was found lying down, fully clothed, and wearing a helmet.
“They also found the personal belongings of the deceased, which included a wallet containing an identification card (IC) and a wristwatch,” he said.

Abang Kaderi added that the body was taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further action and an autopsy is scheduled to be conducted today. The case has since been classified as sudden death (SDR).
He also urged members of the public who witnessed or have information about the incident to contact Rawang Police Station Chief, Inspector Zharif Zakaria, at 013-2969222 or the Gombak District Police Headquarters operations room at 03-61262222 to assist with the investigation.
