Police have opened an investigation after a decomposed body was found by the riverside near a college in Subang Jaya.
Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the discovery was reported at 7.10pm on Oct 31 when members of the public alerted the Bandar Sunway police station.
Believed to have been dead for some time
A team was immediately dispatched to the scene. The body was found wearing only long trousers and is believed to have been dead for some time based on its condition,” he said in a statement.
He added that the victim’s identity and ethnicity have yet to be determined.
No identification documents were found at the scene, and the state of the remains made on-site examination impossible. The body has been sent to the Forensic Department of Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death and establish the deceased’s identity,” he said.
For now, the case has been classified as a sudden death, pending the full post-mortem report and further investigation.
